Privacy
Cookie Policy
This page explains how County Freedom Index uses essential browser storage and optional analytics cookies. The short version: analytics is opt-in, advertising cookies are not used, and you can change your browser choice at any time.
Plain-English Summary
County Freedom Index is a county-level discovery tool for rural land and alternative housing research. The site does not currently offer user accounts, saved searches, payments, or private dashboards. Cookies and browser storage are used in a limited way: to remember your privacy choice and, only if you agree, to help measure aggregate site usage with Google Analytics 4.
Optional analytics is not required to use the site. If you reject optional cookies, county pages, maps, rankings, guides, comparisons, and the County Finder remain available.
Cookie Categories
- Essential storage: used to remember your cookie preference, consent version, update time, and category status in this browser.
- Optional analytics cookies: used only after you accept optional analytics. These support aggregate GA4 page views and approved product events.
- Advertising cookies: not used by the current site.
Analytics Consent
GA4 is configured for the production web stream, but the script does not load until you accept optional analytics cookies. Page views are sent without query strings, and approved analytics events are designed to avoid personal data, parcel addresses, free-form County Finder searches, legal intent, financial information, and user identifiers.
If you reject optional cookies, the site sets Google's GA disable flag for the configured Measurement ID and keeps client-side GA4 unloaded for that browser session. If you first accept and later reject optional cookies, the site sends a denied analytics consent update and attempts to clear common GA cookies where browser rules allow.
Change Your Choice
Use the controls below to accept, reject, or reset optional analytics cookies for this browser. Resetting your choice will make the cookie banner appear again so you can make a new selection.
The cookie banner will ask before optional analytics can load. Essential browser storage may still be used to remember your choice.
If you reject optional cookies after GA4 has already loaded, the site sends a denied analytics consent update and clears common GA cookies where the browser allows it.
What We Do Not Use
The current site does not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, affiliate tracking pixels, session replay, heatmaps, data broker integrations, advertising IDs, remarketing audiences, or cross-context behavioral advertising.
If future features add advertising, lead forms, affiliate links, affiliate tracking pixels, saved searches, accounts, paid tools, third-party tag managers, or additional analytics tools, this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy should be updated before those features launch.
Browser And Device Controls
Browser settings, privacy extensions, device settings, and Google's available opt-out tools may also limit cookies or analytics. Those controls are separate from the preference saved by this site.
