Privacy Policy
County Freedom Index is a public county-level research site. This page explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and how to contact us about privacy.
Overview
County Freedom Index does not currently offer user accounts, payments, private dashboards, or user-submitted parcel applications. Most visitors can browse the site without directly giving us personal information.
Like most websites, the site may still process limited technical information through hosting logs, security systems, analytics tools, and search-engine tools.
Information We May Collect
- Basic technical logs such as IP address, browser, device type, requested pages, timestamps, and error logs.
- Aggregated site analytics such as page views, clicked links, traffic sources, and general location estimates.
- Information you voluntarily send if you contact us, such as your name, email address, and message.
- Search performance information from tools like Google Search Console.
How We Use Information
- Operate, secure, and debug the website.
- Understand which pages and datasets are useful to visitors.
- Improve county profiles, guides, rankings, and data-status pages.
- Respond to messages or privacy requests.
- Protect the site from abuse, spam, scraping pressure, or technical attacks.
Analytics And Cookies
The site may use privacy-conscious analytics or standard web analytics if enabled. Analytics should be used to understand aggregate product and SEO performance, not to sell personal information or make parcel-level decisions about visitors.
If third-party analytics scripts are enabled, those providers may set cookies or use similar technologies according to their own policies. Browser settings and privacy extensions can often limit cookies or tracking.
Third-Party Services
The site may rely on third-party infrastructure and tools, including hosting providers, analytics providers, search-console tools, public data providers, map/data services, and security tooling. Those providers may process limited technical information as needed to deliver their services.
Public Data Sources
County profiles use public or commercially available data sources, including government datasets, county websites, land-market snapshots, climate data, broadband data, solar data, and public-land data. The site is a discovery tool and does not publish private parcel records submitted by users.
GDPR And State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain personal information. Because the site currently has no user accounts and collects minimal direct information, many requests may involve only contact messages or technical logs.
To make a privacy request, contact the site owner with enough detail to identify the information involved. We may need to verify the request before taking action.
Data Retention
Technical logs, analytics records, and contact messages are kept only as long as useful for site operations, security, analytics, legal compliance, or responding to requests. Aggregated analytics may be retained longer because it does not directly identify a visitor.
Children
The site is intended for general land-research audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Important Limits
County Freedom Index is not legal advice, not real estate advice, and not a parcel-level zoning checker. Privacy requests do not change the need to verify land, zoning, water, septic, access, covenants, and local rules before buying or building.
Contact
Privacy requests can be sent to the site owner through the current business contact channel for County Freedom Index. This policy may be updated as the site adds features, forms, accounts, advertising, or additional analytics tools.
