Terms of Use
These terms explain how to use County Freedom Index as a county-level discovery tool, and where its limits begin.
Educational Discovery Tool
County Freedom Index is a county-level research and comparison tool. It is intended to help users build a shortlist of counties for deeper research into tiny homes, RV living, off-grid living, homesteading, container homes, rural land, and alternative housing.
Current Public Site Scope
The current public site is a static discovery product built around public pages, maps, rankings, comparison pages, guides, and county-level datasets. It currently has no user accounts and does not provide saved searches, private dashboards, payment processing, lead forms, parcel applications, direct county outreach, or personalized legal, zoning, real estate, tax, financing, engineering, water, septic, title, survey, or construction advice.
No Professional Advice
The site does not provide legal, zoning, real estate, tax, engineering, surveying, water, septic, finance, or investment advice. Do not rely on the site as a substitute for licensed professionals, title review, surveys, permits, or parcel-specific due diligence.
No Parcel-Level Reliance
A county page, ranking, comparison, map color, source note, or Freedom Score does not mean a specific parcel can be used for any particular purpose. Parcel-level rules may depend on zoning, municipality, subdivision, covenants, HOA or POA rules, utilities, water, septic, roads, fire access, floodplain, title, easements, and current local rules.
Data Confidence And Updates
Scores, rankings, land-market snapshots, climate values, broadband values, public-land values, source notes, verification labels, and confidence labels are discovery signals. They may contain estimates, stale links, missing values, preliminary sourced-discovery records, derived fields, or fields that require county-rule confirmation. Always read the source trail, last-updated date, methodology, disclaimer, and research-status language before using a page to plan deeper due diligence.
Responsible Use
Use the site for personal research, comparison, and education. Do not use it to harass public offices, overload source websites, scrape at abusive volume, misrepresent the site's conclusions, or market a parcel as approved when it has not been independently verified.
Third-Party Links
The site links to government websites, public datasets, land-market pages, analytics services, and other third-party resources. Those sites are controlled by their own owners and may change, move, become unavailable, or publish updated information after a County Freedom Index page is generated.
Availability And Changes
The site may change, add states, remove pages, update scores, revise methodology, noindex thin pages, fix data errors, or change its launch status over time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every page will remain available.
Future Features May Require New Terms
If the site later adds user accounts, saved searches, email alerts, lead-capture forms, paid tools, advertising pixels, affiliate tracking, third-party tag managers, parcel uploads, marketplace features, or personalized workflows, additional terms, privacy disclosures, consent controls, and security review may apply before those features are released.
Limitation Of Liability
Use the site at your own risk. Before buying land, moving an RV, building, installing utilities, drilling a well, adding septic, or making financial decisions, verify the exact parcel and project with appropriate public offices and qualified professionals.
Launch Status
County Freedom Index is built for discovery first. Some counties are verified, while many are sourced-discovery records that require deeper confirmation-prep review. The label on a county profile should be read together with the methodology, source, data status, and disclaimer pages.
